Cure
Overview
A new analysis from the Cure Innovation Index maps how universities of different scale build ties to industry, and why the biggest research names don't lead every channel.
Industry connectivity is easy to picture as a simple correlation: the bigger the university, the more connected it must be. But across 243 research universities and five measures of university-industry connection, we found a pattern that is more complex and nuanced. The largest, best-funded institutions lead the channels built on scale and reputation, while smaller schools lead the federal small-business programs built for them, often matching far larger names dollar for dollar. Download the full report for details on what we measured and what the pattern means for building future partnerships.
