Experience
Flinn started his career as a journalist, working for a daily newspaper, a news wire service and eventually ending up at Bloomberg News. There, he covered breaking news, technology, biotech and wine. After more than a decade as a reporter, he changed careers and started advising companies on communications strategy. He worked at an agency before joining J&J Innovation, where he helped startups and dealmakers promote their science. After J&J, Flinn led all communications for two companies focused on the biotech space. In 2023, he started his own firm, In Like Flinn Communications, and divides his time between advising companies and freelance writing. His articles have been published in The New York Times, The San Francsico Chronicle, Businessweek, Evidence-Based Oncology, Managed Healthcare Executive and Cure. He is the AI correspondent for BiotechTV and publishes a weekly newsletter, AI Rx, on how AI is transforming healthcare.
